What Must I Do to be Saved?2024-02-07T23:04:27-06:00

Salvation is not by works. Jesus Christ has done all the works required for anyone to be saved. Just believe, that’s all it takes. There are two extreme beliefs among many so-called Christians today with regard to salvation:

  • Some believe they are saved by their works. They base their salvation upon their obedience to the commandments.
  • Others believe that they are saved by grace, but there are things they must continue to do in order to keep their salvation.

None of these two positions is biblical. Salvation is not about what you must do, but about about what CHRIST has already done for YOU. He has done all the works required for you to be saved. You just need to believe and trust in His shed blood for the forgiveness of your sins.

The Bible teaches that both salvation and sanctification are the works of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life. You’re not saved by your works, neither is your salvation sustained or made perfect by your works.

Acts 16:30-31  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Galatians 2:21  I do not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain

If you admit your sins and trust in Christ today, you will be saved. To learn more bout salvation and how to get saved today, please refer to How to Be Saved.

What Exactly is the Blessing of Abraham?2024-02-07T23:02:11-06:00

The popular interpretation of the blessing of Abraham among many Christians and Church leaders is that the believers should be rich and wealthy.

This, according to them, is because of of the fact that Abraham was physically and materially blessed. And since the Christians are considered children of Abraham, they should be wealthy too.

But watch out because with these false teachers, there is a catch! In order to get this blessing, you have to give, sow some seeds, etc. to their ministry. That is not biblical!

The Bible truly has a lot to say about the physical riches of Abraham, even in servants. It is not surprising therefore that many prosperity preachers of our days missed the point of the blessing of Abraham.

However, this blessing has nothing to do with money, material possessions, financial blessings, or that you will be rich like Abraham. It is all about the justification and the gift of the Holy Spirit which we received when we believed.

Therefore, if you have truly trusted in Christ for your salvation, you got the blessing of Abraham. It is a blessing reserved for only the faithful!

Galatians 3:8-9 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Galatians 3:13-14  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
