PREFACE: 2019 is another year and opportunity for you to glorify God with your life and in all you do. Don’t do anything in 2019 until you’ve read this article. This is a special message for all the people of the world, either saved or unsaved! If you’re alive today, you belong to one of these two groups. I first addressed the unsaved group after which I addressed the believers, those who are saved, and sure about their salvation.

Introduction

First, I wish all my visitors and readers a happy new year!

This is a special message for all the people of the world, either saved or unsaved! If you’re alive today, you belong to one of these two groups. I will first address the unsaved group and later come to the saved, the believers.

To the Unbelievers

If you think you may be saved but you’re unsure of your salvation, here is a message for you:

John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

1 John 5:9-13 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10 ¶ He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There is no such things as being saved and not knowing it, or not being sure of it. You’re either saved or you’re not! If you’re saved, one of the ways you will have the assurance of salvation is by realizing that your salvation does not depend on your good deeds or your own righteousness. It’s all about what Jesus did.

For those who are not saved or are still rejecting or resisting Christ, here is a message is for you:

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

What makes a difference between those who will go to heaven and those who will not is what they do with the work of Jesus Christ. The Bible is clear that all have sinned. What’s difference with those who will go to heaven is that they have had their sins washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. You can too!

There is no such things as being saved and not knowing it, or not being sure of it. You’re either saved or you’re not!

Believe Right Today

Come to Christ this year. All unsaved people are enemies of God. Jesus Christ in His own words says the wrath of God abides them. If a person dies without being genuinely saved, he will face the final judgment from whence he will be thrown into the lake of fire. This Bible calls this the second death, nobody should go through it.

Do not put it off.

Hebrews 9:27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The grace of God is still available to you now. It runs out the moment you die. While you’re still alive, run to Christ for your salvation. Understand and admit who you are, a sinner who deserves the wages his/her sins. Every disobedience requires a just recompense (Hebrews 2:2). Which means every sin has to be paid for.

The grace of God is still available to you now. It runs out the moment you die.

But the only way you can pay for your own sin is to dies and go to hell. A sinner will burn in hell for all eternity, no end, and no relief. But you don’t have to go through that because Christ has already suffered in your place.

Hear and believe the message of the gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

The gospel is simple. Christ suffered, bled, and died for your sins. He was buried and He rose again. He paid the full penalty of your sins. The Bible says if you believe that He did it for you, your sins will be forgiven. That’s all it take to be saved, just believe!

You’re not required to do anything to be saved. You’re only commanded to believe that Christ dies for your sins, He was buried, and He rose again the third day. That is all you need. Jesus Christ promises that if you believe, your sins will be forgiven, you will not perish, you will be saved and receive the gift of eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Do you believe? If you have believed I congratulate you. But if you don’t, you have been warned. You only have the ability to get saved while you’re still alive. The moment you die, you blow your chance to be forgiven. The bad news is that no one knows when death will come. So now is the best time to repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

You only have the ability to get saved while you’re still alive.

To the Believers

For the believers, those who are already saved, here is a message for you:

Colossians 3:1-2  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

God has a plan for your life this year but the plan is not about you. It is about God and His glory.

Make a deliberate decision to live your life for Christ this year. Focus more on things that have eternal values. On every day of this year, keep something in mind: the Judgment Seat of Christ. We will all appear at this judgment one day. Christ will sit on the throne, and we will stand before Him to give account how we lived our lives. Keep this in mind in everything you do in the year 2019.

God will not only judge our works, He will also judge the motives behind them.

Serve Christ this year and render your services for the right reason. God will not only judge our works, He will also judge the motives behind them.

To be more specific, I will address the following 3 areas of the Christian living:

Study Your Bible

Read your Bible this year. The way to serve God better is by knowing Him better. This can only happen through thorough Bible studies. Better knowledge of God will lead to better relationship with Him. Be open-minded, let the Bible speak to you. Be like the Bereans, approach the Bible this year with readiness of mind. Don’t make up a message which the Bible is not giving.

2 Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Obedience begins with the knowledge of what to obey. Study your Bible this year with the desire to obey what it says.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Share the Gospel

Spend more time witnessing this year than you did last year. The greatest gift or goodness that anyone can receive is salvation. How rewarding is it for you to contribute to leading a person to the knowledge of the truth! Let the passion for the lost drive you into sharing the gospel this year.

2 Timothy 4:1-5  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Remember, the most important thing you can do with your time is sharing the truth of the gospel. This is the only assignment given to us by Christ. Let whatever you do this year be focused on the spread of the gospel, either directly or indirectly.

Let the passion for the lost drive you into sharing the gospel this year.

Make a decision to evangelize and disciple at least one person this year. Write down the name of the unsaved person, begin praying for his/her salvation. Make time to witness to the person and commit yourself to constant follow-up throughout the year.

The most important thing you can do with your time is sharing the truth of the gospel.

Spread the Love

Finally, share the love of God in 2019. This is the greatest commandment.

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Love God – serve and worship Him this year with your time, talent, and treasures. Remember, God is not needy. He is not lonely. He is not depressed. The only reason we serve and worship Him with all that we have is because that is what we’re created to do. Make a decision to give more of yourself this year, both to support the work of God and the needy around you.

Love Your Neighbor – true love is doing good to people without expecting anything in return. Make a decision to bless and make positive impact in someone’s life this year for the love of God.

True love is doing good to people without expecting anything in return.

Romans 12:17-21  Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Be at peace with all people. I understand there are people who are unlovable. By that I mean people who would hate you no matter what you do or say. People who will choose to be evil towards you regardless of how good you’re to them.

I don’t know about you, but I find it very easy to love the people who love me. And I find it very difficult to love those who hate or are mean to me for no good reason. But let us remember that we are all unlovable, but God still loves us anyway. He sent His Son to dies for our sins while we were still committing them. So let the gospel drive your relationship with people this year.

Although there will be people who are too difficult to deal with, make sure you’re not the one causing problems and destroying relationships. If someone decided not to work with you, respect their wishes. You don’t have to be close to people who do not want you. If you’ve able to identify those who are antagonistic to you, or those who are not happy about your progress, keep your distance, and remember to pray from them.

Let the gospel drive your relationship with people this year.

As long as you are the one making peace, you will be fine. Remember “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

He Will be With You Always

Be friendly with those who are friendly, be wise in dealing with those who are unfriendly.

The good new is that the Holy Spirit is in us and with us to get all these things done. God Himself is the one who does the good works in us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
