The message of the cross may not be popular in the world, but that is the only solution to our worst problem, sin against God. Christ fully paid the price, and it was accepted by God. Outside of Christ, there is other way or means to God. I hope you look at this with an open mind.

Today’s Text:

John 14:1-6  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Introduction

Thank you for being here. I’m thankful to God for the grace to get back into posting articles again. It’s been a long time! Thanks everyone for bearing with me.

The world today is against Christ and the message of the gospel. We’re not surprised though because it has always been that way. We’ve never witnessed a time in human history when the gospel was ever generally received. There has always been push back against the message of the cross.

The rejection of the gospel does not only come from those who don’t believe, or don’t believe in God. Don’t we all believe in something or somebody? There is also a popular question about why someone would leave his own religion or belief system to begin following Christ.

We must all realize that when it comes to believing in Jesus, it’s not a matter of religion or believe system, it is a matter of your soul and your eternity. Whatever or whoever you’re devoted to today, does it guarantee you eternal life? This is something only Christ can give, which is also why He is the only One who has ever made that promise. Would you pause and think about that for a moment?

There has always been push back against the message of the cross.

Why You Must Believe in Jesus Christ

Although there are many religious beliefs in our world today, it is certain that there is only one Way to God. And that is Christ. Not only is this true, Christ Himself also gives us reasons to look forward to it. In our text, He opens by saying:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1

There is something spectacular that always accomplishes faith in Christ, and that is the peace of God.  This comes from the knowledge of the truth that Christ has reconciled us to God, and we’re therefore no longer the enemies of God. We’re told at the beginning of Romans 5 that because we’ve been “justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1.

This only applies to those who believe in Jesus. Can you boldly say this about yourself? Does whom you believe give you this assurance? Not only are the believers in Christ given this assurance, we also have something to look forward to. Check out the remaining part of our text:

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” John 14:2-4

In order words, as we speak now, Christ is preparing a dwelling place for us. When that job is done, He will return to take us home. You can bank on that because it is the Word of God. Does your god promise you that? Does your religion or belief system promise you that?

There is something spectacular that always accomplishes faith in Christ, and that is the peace of God.

The whole point of what Jesus did for the world is that at the end of the day, those who believe in Him will end up in eternity with Him. He says in our text “that where I am, there ye may be also”. Another part of the New Testament puts it this way:

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 .

3 Reasons Why You Must Believe in Jesus Christ

In verse 6 of our text, Jesus makes this bold claim: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” As offensive as that might sound in the world, it is the truth, the rejection of which will lead to condemnation. Here I want to give you 3 reasons why Jesus can be the ONLY way to God:

1. Christ is only One Who Gave Himself for our Sins

Tell me anyone else who did this. No one! Not even anyone else who claims to have done it. Only Jesus did, only Him is the accepted sacrifice for all sins for those who trust in Him. Check out this passage:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, writes in Romans 4 about the faith of Abraham. At the end of the Chapter, the Bible says these words:

Romans 4:23-25 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Jesus Christ is the only one who did this, for us. No other religion has any story even close to that of Christ. He gave Himself while others require that you make sacrifices to them. He was sacrificed for our sins. While others give you a list of things to do, Christ did all the works required for our justification and reconciliation with God. Again, no one else did, no one else claims to do it.

2. He is the Only One Who Died and Rose Again

Jesus Christ is the only One who lived, died, bodily resurrected, and is alive forever (1 Corinthians 15:4). No one else did that, no one else has the power to do it. Think about this for a moment: all the inventors of all other religions are dead and they remained dead.

But not only is Jesus alive forever, He is also coming back to take us home, Does your religion promise you that? If you have the option to choose between a dead or a living God, which would you choose? I would rather go with the living God. But this is not a matter of “if”, the options are right in front of you now!

But not only is Jesus alive forever, He is also coming back to take us home, Does your religion promise you that?

3.  Christ is the only One Who is Currently interceding for Us

See, Christ didn’t just die for our sins, asks us to believe in Him, after which He leaves us on our own. No! He will accomplish the purpose of what He did for us. One of the many ways He does this is through His intercession for us with the Father. He is always at the right hand of God, interceding for the believers.

This is another claim that nobody else makes or can make. Listen to the Bible:

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Jesus Christ continues to speak for us as our Advocate with the Father. The blood that He shed for us on the cross covers all sins, past, present, and future. He has made an atonement for our sins and we’re perfected forever (Hebrews 10:14). In His prayer in John 17, Jesus says this to God the Father: “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost…” (John 17:12).

The believers in Christ are those who are given to Christ, and they are assured that they will be kept till the end. They are saved and remained saved. You can only have such confidence in Christ. Those who are trusting in their works or religious activities or rituals have one big problem: they can never know when they’ve done enough to be accepted by God. Nothing could be more hopeless!

The believers in Christ are those who are given to Christ, and they are assured that they will be kept till the end.

And For the Skeptical

If you reject God now, He will reject you on the last day. This is why you must accept Christ because He is the only way to God. You cannot believe in God if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ. And for those who do not believe in anything, maybe you’re still very skeptical, or maybe for you, this whole story of Jesus is just garbage, you think you have your own truth or opinions, I just have a simple question for you:

What if you’re wrong?

But by the time you find out, it would have been too late for you to repent and turn around. Will you be willing to gamble with your life and your eternity that way? Don’t do it! The Bible says that those who do not believe the record that God gives concerning His Son Jesus Christ, they make God a liar.

1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

If left unaddressed, this is an error that carries eternal consequences. But you truly don’t have to go through that. You can still believe today and be saved for life. Instead of fear and the uncertainty about what happens after you die, you will have the blessed assurance that you will end up with God.

So, admit who God says you’re, a sinner who cannot do anything to save himself. Believe that Christ died for your sins and rose again for your justification. Trust in the blood of Jesus Christ, that is what it means to believe in Him. The blood was shed for our sins, therefore, believe in what He did for you, and you will be saved. Ask God to henceforth help you live your life for His glory. It shall be well with you.

If you reject God now, He will reject you on the last day…You cannot believe in God if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ.
